Main meals are ordered via the bedside Patient Entertainment System (PES) screen. Nursing staff will enter any special requirements into the Food Service system to ensure appropriate options are listed for selection. Please flag any pre-existing special diet requirements (i.e. food allergies) with nursing staff.
A dietitian may also be involved in the care of some children and can assist with the provision of appropriate options.
To ensure selections are received by the kitchen please order prior to the main meal cut off times:
- Breakfast 7:30am (aim to order breakfast the night before)
- Lunch 10:30am
- Dinner 4:00pm
If you or your child has been unable to place an order prior to the cut off time please speak to your nurse to make alternative arrangements.
A range of snacks and drinks can be arranged at any time by a nurse from the PICU kitchen.
